Sonamura, Tripura, 9th of August, 2026 : Sonamura police during patrolling duty recovered and seized total 55.6 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja) and 25 Nos ESKUF Cough Syrup at Batadola, UNC Nagar and NC Nagar border road, Sonamura under Sepahijala District on Saturday (8th August, 2026).
According to sources, Sonamura Police Station during mobile duty at Batadola, UNC Nagar and NC Nagar border road recovered and seized total- 55.6 kg ganja and 25 Nos ESKUF Cough Syrup.After that, it was seized following all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized ganja and ESKUF Cough Syrup is approximately to be eleven lakh thirty-seven thousand only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
