Tragic Road Accident At Uptakhali : 18-Year-Old Scooter Rider Killed After Being Hit by 12-Wheeler Truck.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 20th of July 2026 : An 18-year-old youth was killed in a tragic road accident on Sunday (19th July, 2026) near Uptakhali Bazar under Panisagar Subdivision in North Tripura district.

The victim, identified as Sayan Chakraborty (18), a resident of Uptakhali, died on the spot after his scooter was hit by a 12-wheeler truck.According to local sources, the accident occurred near Uptakhali Bazar while Sayan was riding his scooter.

A collision with the 12-wheeler truck resulted in fatal injuries, leading to his death at the scene.On receiving information, personnel from Panisagar Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police have also launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area.

Local residents have urged the administration to take stricter measures to regulate the movement of heavy vehicles on busy roads, saying such steps are essential to prevent similar accidents in the future.
