Teliamura, 7th of March 2024 : Hon’ble Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma inaugurated the Water Treatment Plant under the Jal Jeevan Mission project at Praja Bahadur Molsom para, Mungiakami R.D Block under Khowai District on Thursday (7th March, 2024).
“People have been suffering from lack of clean drinking water for many years. The only source of drinking water for the hill dwellers in all these areas was the water from the hills. From now on you will not have to worry about water.” Hon’ble Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma said at the inauguration ceremony of Water Treatment Plant. This water plant was set up at a cost of about 1 crore 19 lakhs. For many years the villagers of Nonacharra, Kakracharra, Praja Bahadur under Mungiakami block were suffering from water problems. They used to spend their lives by collecting water from the mountains or collecting water from the mountains after going up and down the long mountain road. Due to the untreated water, the children and the old people of the area were always suffering from various diseases. Now the villagers will not have to suffer for drinking water problems.
Apart from the Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture Minister, EM of TTAADC, Kamal Kalai, officials and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
