13-Member BGB Delegation From Bangladesh Led By Additional Director-General Tanveer Gani Chowdhury Reached Agartala.

A 13-member BGB delegation from Bangladesh led by Additional Director-General Tanveer Gani Chowdhury reached Agartala through the Akhaura-Agartala Integrated Check Post on Wednesday (7th December, 2022). The BGB delegation Mohammad Shahidul Islam, ADG, Region Commander, North East Region, Sarail and 11 other dignitaries.

On the Indian side BSF delegation led by Shri Sumit Sharan, IPS, IG BSF FTR HQ Tripura along with Shri Inderjit Singh Rana, IG, BSF, Meghalaya Frontier and Shri Binay Kumar Jha, IG BSF, M&C Frontier with 09 other delegates.

Shri Sumit Sharan, IPS, IG BSF FTR HQ Tripura welcomed the BGB delegation led by Additional Director-General Tanveer Gani Chowdhury at Agartala Frontier BSF HQ Tripura.

Inspectors General Border Security Force – Region Commanders Border Guards Bangladesh Co-Ordination Conference will be held at Salbagan Frontier BSF HQ Tripura w. e. f. 07th to 09th December 2022.

During the Conference, various issues of mutual interest for Effective Border Management will be discussed which include joint efforts against trans-border crime, measures to check illegal cross-border movement, and efforts to curb the smuggling of drugs, narcotics etc. The matter related to Coordinated Border Management Plan is also to be discussed which includes Simultaneous Coordinated Patrols, sharing of information of value and increased frequency of meetings at all levels. Conduct of various other activities like games, sports etc which may go a long way in enhancing confidence building between both the Border Guarding Forces, will also be discussed which would certainly instill faith and confidence among the border population of both sides, ultimately resulting in peace and tranquillity along the border.
