Jahar Chakraborty Takes Oath As The Member Of Tripura Legislative Assembly.

Agartala, Tripura, 13th of May 2026 : Jahar Chakraborty on Wednesday (13th May, 2026) took oath as the Member of Tripura Legislative Assembly at the lobby of the Legislative Assembly, Agartala, Tripura.

Hon’ble  Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ram Pada Jamatia administered the oath of office to the Jahar Chakraborty oath as the Member of Tripura Legislative Assembly.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Johar Chakraborty won by a huge margin with a total of 24,291 votes. CPI(M) candidate secured 6,001 votes, while the Congress candidate got 5,936 votes in the by-election of 56- Dharmanagar Assembly constituency. Votes were counted on 4th May, 2026 (Monday).

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA Kalyani Roy, Hon’ble MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder,  MLA Sudip Roy Barman, other cabinet ministers of the State, MLAs and other officials were present taking oath ceremony.
