Guwahati, Assam, 22nd of May, 2025 : The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Guwahati, conducted a Special Awareness Programme on Wednesday (21st May, 2025) at Burhamayong, Morigaon, focusing on the themes Swachhata Hi Seva, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and Nasha Mukt Bharat. This event is part of a series of initiatives by CBC’s Regional and Field Offices across Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura to foster awareness and community engagement.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students of Burhamayong Janajatiya School. Shri Dhireshwar Saikia, the Headmaster of the school, graced the event along with Dr. Utpal Nath, Assistant Professor, Mayong College, who shared insightful thoughts on sustainable living and the importance of cleanliness, afforestation, and a drug-free society. Dr. Nath emphasized the collective responsibility of individuals in shaping a healthier, greener and addiction-free nation.

A quiz competition based on key government flagship schemes, added an interactive dimension to the programme, with winners receiving on-the-spot prizes. Earlier in the day, a plantation drive under the initiative Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam saw active involvement from students and faculty members.

The highlight of the event was a vibrant cultural performance by private registered troupe under CBC, Guwahati. Their engaging presentation captivated the audience, promoting the core themes of the event in a unique and impactful way.
